Chottnikkara RajaRajeswari Bhagavathy, Kerala - is one of the powerful Shakti shrines of Kerala. Mother Goddess RajaRajeswari is the combined manifestation of Maha Lakshmi, Maha Saraswathi and Maha Kali.
Mother Goddess reached a tribal man, Kannappan (who used to do animal sacrifices to appease Goddess Kali) as a calf (baby cow) and turned him towards SATVIK (no violence) worship here. She self-manifested here as a formless Latrite stone called 'RUDRAKSHA SILA' which has symbols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu on it. In the later times, the same has been worshiped by revered saints like Sri Adi Sankaracharya here.

Because of Lord Vishnu's presence, Mother Goddess is called Lakshmi Narayani / Amme Nayarani here.
Later, an idol has been brought from Kollur MOOKAMBIKA temple and got consecrated here, at RUDRAKSHA SILA. She is considered as principle deity here. Mother Goddess is worshipped everyday in three different forms - Mother Saraswathi in the morning, Mother Lakshmi in the afternoon and Mother Durga/Kali in the evening.

In the premises of the temple, Mother Goddess was trusted to had saved a devotee from an YAKSHI. After killing the YAKSHI, Mother Goddess was believed to have washed her hands in a pond here. Out of that pond, hundreds of years later, a Kali idol was found by a great devotee Vilwamangala Swamiyar. This idol has been consecrated as a separate temple in the same premises called
'Kizhukkave Temple'.
Mother Goddess here is said to have 'healing powers' for severe mental illness. Like Sri Kamakshi Tayi (Jonnawada, AP), NettiKanti Anjaneyaswamy (Guntakal, AP), Lakshmi Narsimhaswamy (Yadagirigutta, AP) - hundreds and thousands of people trust in Chottanikkara Bhagavathy to get rid of many mental disorders.
