 This is the place where Serpent King Vasuki performed severe Penance on Lord Siva to get security from the attacks of GARUDA. Also, this is the place where Lord Subrahmanya got married to DevaSena Devi. Also, this is the place where Serpent Adi Sesha got blessed by Lord Siva.

The sanctum sanctorum here consists of SIVA LINGAM hooded by Adi Sesha in the bottom; Serpent
Vasuki in the middle; Lord Subrahmanya on the upper part - in GARBHA GUDI.



 Every ritual here is carried out with 'utmost care'. Devotees are allowed to have DARSHAN only from a distance because it is believed that the inner most part of the temple gets continuous poisonous emissions because of the presence of Vasuki and Adi Sesha. A pillar called GARUDA STHAMBHAM separates MOOLAVAR from devotees and the poisonous affect gets subsided by that pillar.
