Mother Jogulamba

Mother Goddess Jogulamba of Alampur (my dear Mother who changed the path of my life completely) looks ferocious with an abnormal appearance.

With red eyes and loosened skin - she is depicted as sitting on a dead body. On her head, she has ...uncombed hair with a lizard, a scorpion, a bat and a skull on it.

The symbolic meaning of Mother Jogulamba's appearance is - "She is the protector who has command over life and death".

Within a house, if human beings don't stay at home, the number of lizards in that house tend to increase. This is the first phase of destruction for any house.

If a house is more deserted, scorpions tend to stay there. This is next phase of destruction for a house.

When bats start staying at a house, it means the house is completely abandoned and destroyed. No life could be found there."

Mother Goddess Jogulamba is an affectionate and powerful Goddess that she could save a home (and ofcourse, the people living in) from the clutches of untimely death and destruction.

SRI MATRE NAMAH !

Here are videos of SAHASRA KALASA ABHISHEKAM to Mother Goddess. Thanks a million to Bhakti TV who telecasted this and made available on the Net also. Otherwise, in no way I would be able to watch such precious moments live, as staying at Alampur to catch such early morning ritual might not be possible for people like me.
